NATALIA GUBAREVA
Born in a Siberian town locally known as "Dead End," Natalia Gubareva came of age in a place where trains arrived and turned back, but never ventured on. Hers was a bleak and unpromising future, wherein travel and adventure seemed unattainable dreams.
Determined to break away from her humble beginnings at the age of 16, Natalia attended Novosibirsk State University, and subsequently landed a full scholarship to study at the University of Wyoming, where she found herself perpetually drawn to the darkroom. Photography swiftly enveloped her life and gave her a new lens to perceive and control the landscape of her world.
